Rua Direita de Francos
The home was designed as a series of one level planes that embrace two gardens. The continuous roof covers the L shape and creates a second level of living for reading, sleeping, studying and playing.
The form plays with simple but affective strategies of orientation, letting the light in through different ways during a day.

The brief intended the transformation of an office building into a housing scheme that included a mix of typologies: Studios, 1 & 2 bedroom apartments as well as a communal reception at 1st level.
The design took simple moves, adapting to the existing features:
The windows were extended down as balconies and internal joinery partitions were drawn as playful units that divide and interlock spaces.

The water will flow towards the viewer.
The construction is a performance reflecting the curatorial process.
A gradual action that brings the viewer closer to the park.
The architecture supports the artistic action to contemplate the sea.
The water is evoked through two separate moments by a conductive element, which captures the viewer’s senses.
The salt and mirrors transport the sea to the park. Consequently, the water is never displayed directly.
